What's new

• Re-imports are dependable: importing the same file twice, two imports running at once and malformed translation groups are all handled.

Performance

• The slug-fixing step after an import reads only the imported posts instead of the whole site.

Fixes

• A translation imported in a later run attaches to its original.
• The WordPress importer no longer merges a translation that shares its original's title and date.
• An "Update existing products" CSV import keeps translated variations under their translated parent products.
• A WP All Import post imported as Published keeps its categories.
• WooCommerce CSV imports assign the translated attribute terms to translated products.
• Importing per-language WooCommerce CSV files without WooCommerce Multilingual creates the product in every language, not only the default one.
• Re-runs, scheduled imports and WP-CLI imports through WP All Import keep the intended status instead of arriving published.
• The final-status step handles published, scheduled and group-less rows, and the wizard no longer recommends "published".
• Imports run through WP-CLI or a trigger send only the originals flagged for translation to Translate Everything.
• Inline terms import correctly: a duplicated child term gets the translated parent, and existing terms are no longer deleted or re-labelled.
• After an import, a term shared by posts in several languages is copied into each language and the unused original is removed, instead of being moved into one of the languages.
• An import whose declared language code matches an inactive duplicate language says so, instead of silently placing items there.
• With WP Import Export, export requests no longer leave WPML's language switched to All languages.
• The WP All Export Migrate flow exports each reserved wpmlimport_* column once.

This release improves the texts WPML Export and Import shows in four languages.

Translation improvements

• The Greek, Thai, Turkish and Ukrainian texts of the import steps are improved.

This release focuses on making WooCommerce product imports and recovery from interrupted imports more reliable.

WooCommerce product imports

• Products that were already published now stay published when you run a WooCommerce update import.
• Fixed a locale-dependent column lookup that was losing all variations on WooCommerce CSV imports when the site's default language was not English.
• Product attributes now stay in sync with their translations when importing through WP All Import.
• The filter that skips whole post types from being drafted is now honored during WooCommerce CSV imports.

Media and recovery during import

• Fixed a case where a post's featured image could be connected to unrelated content after importing a file that references media which was not imported.
• Interrupted imports now keep the recovery markers for the posts still waiting to be restored.
• Import status reports now reflect the posts that could not be restored, instead of every post the import attempted.

Command-line imports

• Fixed imports run in CLI mode stalling when using the batch-size filter.

Security

This release includes security hardening.

Fixes

• Fixed an issue where WooCommerce product CSV import would skip translations and output the _sku already exists error if WPML columns were not prefixed with Meta:.

New Features

• WPML automatically creates translation jobs for imported posts set to use automatic translation.
• You can now set import batch sizes using the wpml_import_command_items_per_batch filter.
• WPML automatically updates thumbnail and gallery image IDs on translated posts, products, and CPTs during import, so they point to the correct translated images.
• WooCommerce Multicurrency prices are now automatically included in WP All Export exports.
